Ohange Family
Ohange is a family run Lodge. Everything we have achieved is infused with passion for our spectacular country with diverse scenery, abundant wildlife and friendly culture to give our guest an excellent African experience.
We, Justus and Karla Brits, were both brought up in the central northern Namibia region. That’s why Ohange means home to us, a Lodge is made out of stone and beams but Ohange is made out of love and dreams.
Our Brits and Botha families have been cattle farmers since 1940 in this triangular area twixt Tsumeb, Grootfontein and Otavi Namibia’s popular central northern region. Both spent many fulfilling years in tourism, our careers separately encompassing tour guiding, lodge management and field guiding thus ensuring valuable experience within the industry and obviously immense knowledge of Namibia's diverse landscapes and celebrated wildlife.
In late 2004, our mutual dreams come true when we were able to acquire some land and build our own lodge, - regarded by many as one of the finest game-viewing parks on the African continent. Several months hard work and design, assisted by artisans drawn only from local districts, our vision was realized and our personal home and lodge open for business midway through 2005.
Today, 2014, we have a seven year old son, Juan, that started his school and boarding at Tsumeb Gimnasium. From a staff compliment of five we have grown to fourteen. They are the faces and spirit of Ohange striving to make every guest stay an unforgettable experience whether they cook, serve or clean.
At Ohange a starry night around the blazing camp fire with warmth surrounding you, you are bound to feel part of our Ohange family.
